Running for governor in California is expensive. There are two paths candidates can take to deal with this.
One is to sell out your values to the special interests who got California into this mess. That’s the path some of my opponents are choosing.
There’s Xavier Becerra, who has taken tens of thousands of dollars from Big Oil to fuel his campaign.
Then there’s Tom Steyer, a literal billionaire who made his fortune investing in big polluters and private prisons. Now, he’s pouring $147 million into his campaign—enough to make your eyes pop.
The other path is the one I’m choosing: grassroots support powered by my commitment to fight for working Californians.
I’ve never taken corporate PAC money, and I never will. Instead, I’m building a movement of more than 100,000 people who’ve chipped in what they can, when they can, to power our campaign.
Make no mistake: the corporate money my opponents are taking is helping their campaign. In the final weeks of this race, I’m counting on Porter Supporters more than ever to fund our ads and keep us competitive.
Can you help us pull ahead in the polls by chipping in $5 or more to our campaign today?
Thank you,
Katie Porter
