There’s been a major development in our race.
My billionaire opponent, Tom Steyer, poured another $13.5 million into his campaign, bringing his total self-funding up to a staggering $193 million.
We knew more spending was coming, but we weren’t expecting anything close to this.
If we don’t have the resources to respond, Steyer could completely drown us out across California in these final weeks.
I’ll be honest: this level of spending could change the trajectory of this race.
Instead of winning support with good ideas, he’s trying to buy this election outright.
I don’t think billionaires should be able to use their wealth to gain political power and influence our democracy, and I’m not backing down now.
I’ve spent my career standing up to people like Tom Steyer trying to cheat the system. But this is one of the biggest fights we’ve faced yet, and I can’t do it alone.
Thank you,
Katie
