I just got off the debate stage, and if there’s one thing I want people to know, it’s this: this race is about who you think the government should work for.
Too many people who were up on tonight’s stage are comfortable with the system as it is. I’m not.
Families in California are doing everything right and are still falling behind. Rent is up, groceries are up, wages aren’t keeping pace. And while that’s happening, the people with money and power are doing just fine.
I’ve seen this up close my whole career. And I’ve sat at my kitchen table doing the math, trying to make it work when it doesn’t. That’s not abstract for me. It’s real life for a lot of people.
My agenda is simple: lower costs, take on the companies and interests driving them up, and hold the government accountable so we can actually deliver for Californians.
This isn’t about who has the biggest corporations backing them or the most money. It’s about who’s willing to do the work and take on the fights that come with it.
The June primary is less than a month away, ballots are already in mailboxes across the state, and only the top two candidates make it to November.
If you’re with me, I’d be honored if you donated $5 or whatever you can to my campaign today. Together, we can build on tonight’s momentum and make sure our message reaches voters across the state.

Thank you,
Katie
