The Republican Party of Texas officially adopted a new anti-woman, anti-abortion platform. It is, without a doubt, one of the most extreme, dangerous positions I have ever seen. |
Texas Republicans endorsed banning IVF, arguing it means “freezing babies” and calling it “wicked.” |
And they want to make it legal to arrest women who get an abortion, under the guise of “equal protection” – a provision that passed to “thunderous” applause. |
Republicans are not being coy about what their endgame is – they are literally shouting it out loud and making it a part of their party platform in Texas. |
The Texas GOP is a testing ground for the Republican Party's most radical, extreme ideas. This is where they float their most dangerous policies to see what they can get away with. |
The ideas that start in Texas end up in Congress. They end up at the Supreme Court. The policies they test there become the national Republican playbook. |
Make no mistake: The ultimate goal of the GOP isn't just to restrict reproductive rights in Texas. It is a national ban on abortion, a national crackdown on IVF, and the total erosion of our reproductive freedoms across the country. |
They are showing us exactly what they plan to do in the coming days, months, and years. We have to take them at their word, and we have to fight back now. |
