I'm going off script today.
My team wanted me to send an update with 3 things you should know about this race. But I know these messages can get heavy, and we've been sending a lot of them. So instead, here are three things you might not know about me:
1. I married a Pulitzer Prize winner. Connie Schultz won a Pulitzer back when she was writing columns at The Plain Dealer. She's the best writer in our house and the heart of our family. Anybody who's spent five minutes with her knows it. I'm a lucky guy.
2. I was an Eagle Scout. I earned it as a kid in Mansfield. It was a long time ago, but this stuck: Do the work, don't cut corners, look out for your neighbors. That's not a bad way to approach public office either.
3. I drive a Jeep. Built in Toledo. By union workers. The best in the business – always.
Look, I'm not a special guy. I've got a family, a Jeep, and childhood lessons I still think about. I've got a lot in common with most of the folks reading this.
And I think we need more of that in the U.S. Senate. Somebody who understands working families and good values. That's me.
But I'll be honest about where this race stands: the polls are neck and neck, and National Republicans are spending over $130 million to attack me and drown out this movement.
So if you're able, will you chip in $5 today to help us flip this seat in Ohio? |

Hey there! It's Sherrod Brown.
There's nobody fighting for Ohioans in the U.S. Senate right now, and I won't sit on the sidelines while working people get screwed over by large corporations and wealthy political donors.
If you work hard, you should be able to afford a decent life. But the reality is, life is too expensive. Costs are going up. Wages are staying stagnant. Working people are working harder than ever before, and they're not getting their share of the profit.
This campaign is all about changing that – and election analysts say we have a strong shot at winning in November.
But I'll need your help to pull it off: My opponent is a Washington insider being propped up by the Republican establishment, and he's got virtually unlimited resources.
That's not how our campaign works. We're a grassroots movement, and that means we rely on ordinary people chipping in a couple bucks. If you're able, please make a donation of any amount today. It could be what helps us flip Ohio and the Senate.
If you'd like to receive exclusive updates from my team, you can text "OHIO" to 64054.
Thank you.
