Outspent and possibly drowned out

Hi, there’s no easy way to say this, so I’ll just rip off the band-aid.

Grassroots donations have really slowed down, and now, we’re $30,000 in the hole for our next ad payment.

I’ll say more in a second, but Sherrod and I need you to make today the day you chip in your first donation so we can get back on track by midnight. Will you give $5 or whatever you can right now?

Just last week, a new dark-money group committed $28 million to defeat Sherrod – bringing total GOP spending in Ohio’s Senate race to $131 million.

The only way we can stay competitive is by running TV ads of our own. We’ve launched a couple so far, and it’s been incredibly effective at reaching Ohio voters. But keeping them on the air is expensive – and if we fail to hit our next ad payment, we’ll leave ourselves vulnerable to even more far-right attacks.

We just can’t have our fundraising fall behind at the same time that we’re getting outspent by the GOP.

My job is to ensure we have the resources to compete, so I have to ask: Will you chip in $5 for the first time today to help close this budget gap and reach the voters we need to win this toss-up race?
