First things first, friend: If you chipped in any amount at all toward my April end-of-month fundraiser, I hope you know how truly grateful I am. Every cent makes an impact and means the world to me and my team.
That being said, we did not close the last $1,038 gap to my $20,000 goal.
Now, I spent the Senate Easter/Passover recess meeting with folks in every corner of Washington state. Across those many conversations, it was crystal clear that people in Washington state are already sick and tired of President Trump's corruption, incompetence, and cruelty:
Small business owners are reeling from Trump's ham-fisted tariff wars.
Working parents are scrambling to find affordable child care, and, even worse, this administration is threatening to zero out funding for Head Start programs.
Seniors are worried that Elon Musk will "accidentally" disqualify them from collecting their hard-earned Social Security benefits.
And if we fall short of our fundraising goals now, MAGA Republicans WILL take it as a sign we don't have what it takes to protect working families from their pro-billionaire, anti-middle-class, and at times, wholly unconstitutional agenda.
That's why I want our fundraising numbers to show that Democrats are fired up and ready to fight back.
If everyone reading this pitches in $5 (if you can afford it) before midnight, we can prove them wrong – so I'm extending the deadline for one night only in a last-ditch effort to close the gap.
