From Olympic National Park to Mount Rainier – it's no secret why we call Washington the Evergreen State. |
By protecting 2 million acres of our pristine backcountry national forest lands, the Roadless Rule has played a big part in keeping it that way. |
More than just jaw-dropping views, our public lands support local jobs and economies, preserve crucial headwaters and fisheries – including our salmon – sustain Indigenous cultural practices, and shield our communities from wildfire. |
But this administration doesn’t care – in fact, its push to reverse the Roadless Rule is just part of a larger pattern of attacks on iconic public lands across the Western United States, including: |
- Gutting the Forest Service and National Park Service's budgets and staff,
- Illegally cutting billions set aside for conservation and natural recovery,
- Trying to bulldoze Big Bend for an unannounced border wall extension,
- Attempting to secretly give a parcel of Yosemite to real estate developers (!!) and more.

Like the inflationary tariffs, the health care and food stamp cuts, the mass layoffs, and more, it's just another means to the President's ultimate end: enriching corporate elites like himself at the expense of hardworking Americans – our outdoor wonders and the planet our kids will inherit be damned. |
But our public lands belong in the public's hands, not just one man's. |
So it's on us to take a stand. And that starts by building grassroots strength to show the GOP that we won’t sit by and let them sell out our pristine national treasures. |
