I just stepped off the stage from the first debate of this race for governor, and I want to tell you exactly what I saw up there.
There were two very different visions for California.
I’m fighting for working families—people stretched thin by skyrocketing costs, students buried in debt, parents struggling to afford child care.
The other candidates? They’re fighting for themselves.
Steyer is a self-funding billionaire trying to buy his way into this race. Becerra took tens of thousands from Big Oil. And the two Republicans in this race are trying to bring Trump’s MAGA agenda to California.
I’ve spent my career calling out exactly this kind of behavior. When I bring out a whiteboard, it’s not for show—it’s because facts matter. People can see exactly who’s looking out for them and who isn’t.
As governor, I’ll do the same thing. I’m fighting for tuition-free public college, single-payer health care, eliminating state income tax for those earning under $100,000, and universal child care so parents don’t have to choose between a paycheck and their kids.
The bottom line is I don’t take corporate PAC money, I’m not self-funding my campaign, and I’m not here to protect the status quo. I’m here to change it.
California’s primary is coming up fast, and only the top two candidates move on to November. If we’re going to win this, we need to make sure we’re one of them.
Thank you,
Katie
