You deserve an explanation

Hey there, folks,

I’m about to ask you to chip in $5 to my Senate campaign in Ohio. But before I do, you deserve an explanation. (If you’re short on time and want to have an immediate impact on our fight to flip Ohio and the Senate, you can chip in here.)

June has been a huge month for our campaign. We went up on TV with a new ad, polls came out showing this race moving further and further in our direction, and although the GOP doesn’t want it to be true, the momentum is on our side.

That’s because of you. I’m so grateful for the hundreds of thousands of folks who have joined our movement to give working people their voice back in Washington.

But listen, this month has also been incredibly challenging. A dark-money super PAC launched a new seven-figure ad buy against me, bringing total GOP spending in this race to $83 million.

Republicans know as well as we do that our path to retaking the Senate majority runs straight through Ohio, and they’re firing on all cylinders to stop me from flipping this seat. The only way I can fight back against this onslaught of money is with grassroots support from folks like you.

That’s why I set a goal to raise $1.5 million before tomorrow’s mid-month deadline, and I need your help to reach it. It’s our most ambitious goal yet, but it’s what we need to raise to win a state like Ohio. Please, will you chip in $5 to win in Ohio and flip the Senate?
