Let's take a walk down memory lane.
First, Donald Trump promised us on the campaign trail that he'd improve our economy.
Then, his harmful tariffs and chaotic announcements destabilized our economy and increased the risk of a recession.
Now, instead of owning the problem and reassuring the American people, Trump's saying that "we're going to have a disruption" and "there is a period of transition."
It's not just a "disruption" when workers lose their jobs during a recession. For those of us who actually need a paycheck to make ends meet, unemployment could mean skipping medicine, going hungry, or even losing our home.
We deserve leaders who understand the pain families feel in an economic downturn—and who fight like hell to deliver what families need to put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads.
