When Donald Trump was running in 2016, there were at least some Republican elected officials willing to speak out against him.
This time around, all the Republican politicians have fallen into line. That's emboldened Trump and made him even more dangerous.
What that means for us is that we need to be even more vigilant, and we need to push back twice as hard.
Democrats are not going to win in 2026 by rolling over today. We can't wait two years to show some backbone.
We need to be a party of fighters, showing the American people that we are standing up for them. We need to sharpen our message and better connect with voters.
That's the way to win, and it's the right thing to do.
If we believe—and I do—that Donald Trump and his MAGA allies are a threat to our freedoms, our well-being, and our entire economy, then now is the time to step up, speak out, and get loud.
