As a mom, I often have people tell me that campaigns are something I "do to my kids."
The truth is that every office I've run for is for my kids.
From bringing down the cost of housing to taking climate action, every one of my priorities is about building a better future for my children.
When I talk to my kids at the dinner table, they tell me they're worried about being able to live in California when they grow up. Solving those problems is why I ran for office as a first-time candidate in 2018 and why I'm running for Governor now.
I know that political life isn't always the easiest on my children, but I'm not going to sit still while costs skyrocket and while Donald Trump threatens our economy, our planet, and our rights.
Every parent wants their kids to have it better than we had it. So when Donald Trump tries to take our country backwards, I'm going to fight back.
