Jeanne – the surge in mass shootings we've seen nationwide has made one thing painfully clear: We must take immediate action toward ending our gun violence epidemic.  That's why I am fighting in the Senate to close loopholes and require background checks on unlicensed firearm sales, including those made online or at gun shows, keeping guns out of dangerous hands and saving lives. This is just common sense. Although more than 90% of Americans support comprehensive background checks, current federal law does not require unlicensed sellers to conduct them before transferring a firearm. But I know we can change that.
