Hi, friend – Patty here. |
Word on the street is that Trump likes to gift his favored staff and sycophants with ill-fitting pairs of $145 leather oxford dress shoes – because, and I quote: "I never liked cabinet members walking around in sneakers, you know?" |
No, Donald. I don't. |
When I was a young mom, local officials planned to close my kids’ preschool program due to state budget cuts – but I took action. I packed up my two young kids and went to Olympia to urge my state representatives to save the preschool program. While there, one male legislator told me I couldn’t make a difference because I was “just a mom in tennis shoes.” |
But I didn’t let that stop me. I organized a grassroots coalition of 13,000 parents, and we saved the preschool program. |
This showed me firsthand the difference local government could make if it were more like the people and families it represents. So, I laced up my tennis shoes and ran for the local school board, then the state legislature, and eventually the U.S. Senate. And each and every day, I fight to make sure working families have a seat at the table. |
All that's to say, I’ve gotten a lot of good done on the Senate floor in tennis shoes, despite what Trump would have you believe. |
So if you agree that we need more moms in tennis shoes running the Senate – and fewer out-of-touch Trump wannabes sporting dress shoes – then I'm counting on you to lace up your shoes and join me in the fight to flip the majority blue: |
The map and the money are stacked in MAGA's favor this cycle, so I need consistent grassroots support between now and November. Your help is the only way to build the resources it'll take to wrench back the levers of power from the ultra-wealthy, oxford-wearing few. Will you please chip in anything you can spare today to help us get off on the right foot? |

Thank you for walking alongside me.
