Donald Trump and Republicans’ chaotic, backward policies have driven up the costs of health care, gas, and groceries – and their SAVE America Act would make voting more expensive, too. |
Their anti-democracy bill uses the guise of “voter fraud” as a reason to nationalize our elections and make it harder for people to vote, by: |
- Requiring in-person proof of citizenship to register and a photo ID to vote
- Mandating monthly voter roll purges
- Barring states from counting ballots that arrive after Election Day
- Banning universal mail voting, ranked choice voting, online voter registration, and voter registration drives
- Opening up nonpartisan election officials to the threat of nonstop and baseless lawsuits
- Forcing states to hand over sensitive voter data to the federal government for the creation of a centralized voter surveillance database, and more
