The other leading candidates in this race couldn't be bothered to denounce ICE's immoral, unconstitutional attacks on our communities.
As a leader, I've always put my values first. That's why in the face of ICE attacking communities across California and the country, I called to abolish ICE.
Meanwhile, even after Donald Trump unleashed federal agents on Los Angeles, my opponent Eric Swalwell voted to thank ICE.
And the billionaire in this race, Tom Steyer, made his billions investing in the same private prisons that ICE is using right now to detain thousands of immigrants.
That's BS.
I have consistently stood up for California's immigrant community. I don't change my voice depending on how the political winds blow, because what is right is right, always. ICE needs to be abolished, not thanked.
California's next governor needs to be clear eyed about protecting our communities from Donald Trump's thugs. That's exactly the type of governor I will be.
