Mauwa**, a mother of three who’s been displaced several times and now lives in a displacement camp, brought in her sick daughter, 5-month-old Solange**, for help. “My child was healthy until last night when her fever rose. Her condition worsened rapidly as she was struggling to breathe.” At a time when violence was rampant and many people were being killed, Mauwa made the journey to find urgent medical care. When baby Solange arrived, our teams diagnosed her with pneumonia and quickly started treatment. Over a period of eight days, we provided her with intravenous fluids, medicine and close supervision free of charge. Eventually, baby Solange regained her health and could breathe comfortably again. “I cannot express how overjoyed I am to see my child well again,” Mauwa confessed when she saw her child getting better. |
