When drought struck Kenya, farmers were hit particularly hard. Empty fields, no crops and no sources of income. Without food, 4-year-old Lomor* became malnourished and fell sick. His mother quickly noticed the changes in his personality.
“[Lomor] is playful, joyful and likes running around. But when he became sick and he became malnourished, he was no longer that cheerful child,” said Lomor’s mother, Ekeson*.
At one of our Save the Children clinics, our teams quickly treated Lomor for acute malnutrition and anemia. Now, Lomor is back in good health – smiling, moving and playing again.
