1️⃣ Kansas: Republican legislators failed to override veto of gender-affirming care ban In Kansas, Republican lawmakers were attempting to override the Democratic governor's veto of a bill that would block trans minors from receiving health care. The GOP is pursuing all avenues to attack LGBTQ+ people, but Democrats continue to push back and protect our communities → 2️⃣ Arizona: GOP legislators indicted in fake elector scheme In Arizona, two sitting Republican legislators in Arizona were indicted by a grand jury for falsely certifying that Trump won Arizona in the 2020 election. Their horrific behavior highlights the role state legislatures play in preserving or destroying our democracy → 3️⃣ Pennsylvania: House Democrats passed a bill to allow ballot counting to start earlier In Pennsylvania, House Democrats passed legislation to allow election officials to start counting mail-in and absentee ballots seven days before Election Day. This measure will help avoid delays in election results this November and beyond as voting-by-mail increases in popularity → 🏳️‍🌈 LGBTQ+ Rights: Democrats are blocking GOP attacks in states nationwide Republican lawmakers have introduced a record number of bills targeting the LGBTQ+ community this year.
