| | Friends, when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and states across the country immediately began enacting draconian laws to control women's bodies and choices, one thing became abundantly clear: | Reproductive freedom will be on the ballot in November. Already we're seeing so many shameful and heartbreaking impacts of extreme abortion bans — the rising infant mortality rate in Texas, the seventh-grader forced to become a mom in Mississippi. And safe havens for reproductive rights are becoming fewer and farther between: | Right now, Virginia is the only remaining state in the South without an abortion ban in place. | We've got to fight these unjust restrictions at the state level and in the courts, and there are activists on the ground across the country who are doing just that. But there's one clear action that we can and must take at the federal level if we want to ensure women have bodily autonomy: Congress must codify the protections of Roe into federal law. I'm prepared to do that — I introduced the bipartisan Reproductive Freedom for All Act, and I'm pushing hard to get it passed. | But I'm up for reelection this year, so if I'm going to keep fighting for reproductive freedom, I need to hold on to my seat — and Democrats need to hold on to our majority. | Right now, will you split $5, $25, or whatever amount you can between my reelection campaign and Patty Murray's to help make sure we can keep up this fight? | If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your split donation to Tim Kaine and Patty Murray will go through immediately: | The stakes couldn't be any higher. Thank you for everything you do. — Tim Kaine | | | | | | |
