And it wasn't just in Virginia that Democrats saw victory: In Pennsylvania, Democrats won a seat on the Supreme Court, in New Jersey, we defended our Democratic majorities, and in Ohio, voters approved a proposed amendment to their state constitution that will guarantee a constitutional right to abortion, reinforcing what we already know: protecting fundamental freedoms is a winning issue. And as of 11 p.m. ET tonight, Democrats have won special elections in Kentucky, Maine, Rhode Island, South Carolina, and a crucial special election in New Hampshire that narrows the already razor-thin margin in the state House to put Democrats just one seat short of a tie.
