Every American should be free to live their truth and take pride in who they are. Yesterday, I celebrated Pride Month alongside San Francisco activists and community leaders in what was a joyful and inspiring day.
I'll always stand with the LGBTQ+ community, and that requires more than just attending Pride events. I was a proud YES vote on the Equality Act, to prevent discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. This bill passed the House in 2021, but stalled in the Senate—thanks to the filibuster.
In the Senate I'll fight like hell to overturn the filibuster so we can pass protections for LGBTQ+ Americans into federal law. But nobody gets elected alone, and I need your support to get there.
