Congress has the duty to make sure your taxpayer dollars are well spent, and as a champion for oversight, Katie will always fight for a budget that invests in things that make our economy strong, stable, and globally competitive. Our tax dollars shouldn't be used to score political points. That means:
- Investing in things like insulin: when folks have insulin, they're able to stay healthy and out of hospitals, saving our healthcare system money in the long run.
- Ending tax loopholes for big corporations.
- Investing in childcare, education, paid family leave—things that allow parents to stay in the workforce if they'd like to, and prepare future generations for success.
- Making sure there's proper oversight over the defense industry.
