California has a 'jungle primary' system, meaning unlike most primaries that advance one Democrat and one Republican, the top two vote-getters move on to the general, regardless of party.
Katie is definitely the Democratic frontrunner in this race. But we can't take anything for granted in a competitive field with so many candidates and a recent poll showing nearly 40% of voters are undecided.
We need to keep up our current momentum, so we can reach voters who will decide the outcome of the primary election next June. It might feel far away, but right now is when we build the foundation of this campaign.
