| | Breaking: "Dozens of Social Security Administration offices across the country are slated to close this year" — AP News I sent a letter to the Trump administration's acting Social Security commissioner and joined my colleague Cory Booker on the Senate floor yesterday to demand the GOP protect access to this vital benefit for the millions who depend on it.

Unelected billionaire Elon Musk vowed to cut trillions from vital government programs like Social Security, which 72 million Americans rely on.
His "Department of Government Efficiency" has already listed 47 Social Security offices for closure. Many have begun closing already, including here in New York.
And it doesn't stop there: At a time when President Trump is trying to gut the federal workforce, these closures could exponentially increase wait times for Social Security recipients, delay or disrupt benefits and negatively impact the staff who work tirelessly to provide Americans with the benefits they need.
That's why I'm standing with Cory Booker and calling on the Social Security Administration to stop the closures of these critical offices to protect Social Security benefits.
