Donald Trump's presidency was an absolute disaster for the American people for many reasons. One of them is that he appointed sycophants to his cabinet, instead of qualified public servants who would deliver for families.
Let's take a walk down memory lane:
Betsy DeVos was Trump's Secretary of Education. Not only did she advocate for gutting public education, she also sided with for-profit colleges over the students they cheated. AND, she had huge sums of money invested in some of those same institutions.
Ben Carson had no business being the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, yet Trump appointed him anyway. When Katie questioned him in a 2019 hearing, he revealed that didn't even know basic housing terms like REO (Real Estate Owned)—he thought she was talking about Oreos.
Trump's #1 criterion for appointments was loyalty to him, instead of expertise and competence, and a second Trump administration could be even worse:
Elon Musk and RFK Jr. have been floated as possible cabinet members because of their allegiance to Trump. If we let Trump back into the White House, he'll appoint his cronies to do whatever benefits him, at the expense of the American people.
