Electing Democrats to our state legislatures is critical to stopping them: In Wisconsin, Republicans have used their power in the legislature to rig the maps. Earlier this month, voters filed a petition in the WI Supreme Court challenging the state's partisan maps. With a new liberal majority on the court, Democrats could secure fair maps and finally build power. In North Carolina, Republicans are using their veto-proof supermajority to pass extreme voter suppression bills – creating stricter requirements for mail-in ballots and adding administrative burden for election officials. But flipping just one GOP-held seat would break their supermajority. We have the opportunity to defeat Republicans' decades-long advantage in states like Wisconsin and North Carolina. By electing Democrats in these states and beyond, we can stand up to the GOP's right-wing, anti-democratic agenda. This is no small task – it'll take time, funding, coordination, and grassroots support through and beyond Election Day. That's why I'm counting on you to step up and own a piece of this fight.
