If California was its own country, it would be one of the largest economies in the world. So being governor comes with a lot of power. That's power that can be used to make people's lives better, or power that can maintain a status quo that has made life in California unaffordable for too many.
Katie is running to make sure we are using that power to improve people's lives. As a single mom raising three kids, she knows the struggle of trying to make ends meet and stretch a tight budget as far as it can go. She knows that wielding the power of the governor's office to lower costs and hold cheaters accountable can make a tangible difference in people's lives.
But electing her won't be a walk in the park. The field is crowded, and many voters are still undecided. We need to get Katie's unapologetically progressive message in front of voters ASAP, and that takes serious resources.
