To bring down costs for families, we need to address the high cost of housing. For most Californians, it is their #1 monthly expense.
Yet, too few of our politicians are making housing their #1 issue.
California is on track to lose Congressional seats. We are aging as a state where young people can't afford to stay—all because we aren't building housing.
California should be a place where graduates, seniors, families and workers can afford to live and thrive. That will take building much more housing, much quicker.
Every part of California needs to do their part on housing. For cities in California that want to grow, for cities that want to attract jobs and businesses, they need to have enough housing that workers can afford.
It's one of my top priorities to make California the place of choice for our next generation of workers, while making sure it's a place our long-time Californians can retire in and thrive. And to do that we need more housing.
I am going to be a housing governor. I'll bring together workers, businesses, labor, and consumers to get it done—and lower costs.
