I wanted to give you a quick update on the state of this race before our end-of-quarter fundraising drive ends at midnight. But first, can you chip in $5 to help us hit our $200,000 goal?
FIRST: Kamala Harris announced she wouldn't be running, completely changing the dynamics of this race. Overnight, our campaign became the Democratic frontrunner.
THEN: Other candidates tried to steal our momentum. One launched TV attack ads against us, while another poured $10 million of his own money into the race.
NOW: We're up against our biggest test yet—reaching our $200,000 goal before midnight. Hitting this mark is critical to countering attacks, keeping our momentum, and reaching undecided voters across the state.

We need to reach this goal to protect California’s progress
Sometimes I'm asked why I'm running for governor. The answer is simple: I feel the same call to serve now that I did when I first ran for office in 2018.
Right now, so many of our fundamental freedoms are under attack from the Trump Administration. Immigrants are being targeted in their homes and schools. Critics are being silenced in the media. Women's reproductive freedom is at risk nationwide. And our economy is only working for the rich and well-connected—not working families.

The governor of California holds immense power to protect our progress. As the world's 4th largest economy and the nation's most populous state, California can't be ignored. If we work together, we can resist Trump's agenda and defend our freedoms.
As governor, I won't let that power go to waste. I'm ready with bold ideas to lower costs, tackle our housing crisis, and help every Californian thrive free from Trump's authoritarian tactics.
