Truth to Power supports candidates who are running for the right reasons
Katie Porter here. In 2020 I started an organization called Truth to Power. At the time, I was a freshman Member in the House, who quickly saw how desperately we needed to elect more leaders who aren't beholden to corporate cash.
While the number of congresspeople who accept corporate PAC cash has gradually decreased over recent years, our work is far from over.
Truth to Power supports candidates who are running for the right reasons: to create an economy that works for working people, get serious about climate change, and restore the nationwide right to an abortion. Since launching—and thanks to grassroots support—we've been able to spend over $500,000 directly supporting Democrats, and have raised another $125,000 directly into candidates' campaigns.
I know it can be difficult to determine where your donation will make the most meaningful difference, especially with so many different groups supporting Democrats out there. But as the leader of the legislation to crack down on spam PACs, I can promise you your support of Truth to Power makes a real difference, especially for some of the smaller campaigns we support.
