I'm all about transparency. So here's a look at what I see when I log on to ActBlue and check out our year's fundraising progress:
We saw a groundswell of support on our Launch Day in January, but things have slowed down since then. That's to be expected, but around this time, things should be picking back up.
Here's the truth: grassroots fundraising is down for Democrats across the country. I get it, you probably get a lot of these emails, and it's easy to wonder if $5 makes a difference.
For our campaign, it does. Our average contribution this quarter is $22.14 and 99% of our donations are of $100 or less. I don't take a dime from corporate PACs, federal lobbyists, or Big Oil, Big Pharma, or Big Bank CEOs. But we're up against opponents who have spent decades in power banking these checks.
We need to ramp up our fundraising so we can run the robust campaign we'll need to win. Can you chip in whatever makes sense for your budget today?
