Yesterday, the Trump Administration officially shuttered the dedicated LGBTQ+ youth suicide hotline.
This cruel policy change will lead to young people losing their lives.
We know that LGBTQ+ youth are at significantly higher risk for suicide attempts compared to their peers, and we know that the LGBTQ+ youth hotline actually worked to help kids in crisis.
Our leaders should be empowering every American child to have happy, healthy lives. Once again, Donald Trump is doing the opposite.
As Governor, I will always stand with the LGBTQ+ community and defend LGBTQ+ Californians against extremists' attempts to attack or scapegoat them.
