Senate Republicans didn't spend this week pushing for legislation to lower the cost of groceries or make health care more affordable like they promised on the campaign trail – nope. They went full steam ahead on advancing their extreme agenda to control women's bodies.
The bill the Senate voted on this week – and that Democrats blocked – would have let the federal government override the decisions of families and create new, medically unnecessary barriers for doctors and patients.
Trump and Republicans are so certain that they know better than women and doctors that they are trying to insert the federal government into reproductive health care in the most unthinkable ways.
Republicans may control Congress and the White House – but we can't let them forget that the vast majority of Americans SUPPORT abortion rights. That's why now more than ever, we need to keep speaking out and fighting back against Trump and Republicans' draconian attempts to control women and their bodies.
