What unites us is so much stronger than what divides us

This is Tim Kaine and Jacky Rosen here, and we're reaching out today about two things that are really important to us – our faith, and our shared fight to continue serving the American people in the Senate in November.

We come from different ideological backgrounds – Tim is Catholic, and Jacky is Jewish – but what unites us across our traditions is our shared belief in justice, compassion, and the importance of serving others.

Faith has always been a guiding force in our lives. For Tim, running a Jesuit mission school in Honduras – teaching teenagers to be carpenters and welders – shaped his work to combat poverty and create just systems in society. And for Jacky, the Jewish concept of tikkun olam – which means to leave the world a better place than we found it – guided her actions as president of her synagogue and her decision to run for public office in the first place.

It's important to share what grounds us. Like so many of you, our faith has taught us that we all have a responsibility to look out for our neighbors and to keep fighting against injustice and inequality whenever possible.

Right now, we're in a tough fight – not just for our seats in the Senate, but for the values that shape our work every day.

The stakes couldn't be higher – from safeguarding freedoms like reproductive rights and voting rights, to protecting our democracy from our MAGA opponents, to continuing to build an economy that works fairly for all Americans.

To accomplish these goals and so many more, we need to come together to hold onto our Democratic majority in the Senate. The good news is that what unites us is so much more powerful than what divides us – so we've got a real shot at getting this done.
