It should have been a day of celebration, but instead, Monday was a reminder of just how far backwards Donald Trump and his Supreme Court justices have taken our country. SCOTUS’s Dobbs decision robbed millions of Americans of their bodily autonomy and critical – and sometimes lifesaving – health care. Since that dreadful day: 21 Republican states have moved to ban nearly all abortions or severely restrict access to them. The GOP has sought to criminalize abortion and punish those seeking an abortion and their doctors. And now House Speaker Mike Johnson is rumored to be eyeing a FEDERAL abortion ban! Luckily, Democratic governors have been there to meet this once-in-a-generation moment with a HISTORIC response. Can I count on you to give $3 to help protect abortion rights in the states? RUSH $3 (becomes $6) Dem govs have protected reproductive rights in their states by signing legislation to codify abortion rights into state law. They’ve stockpiled abortion medication in the midst of Republican threats to it. And they’ve taken executive action to protect reproductive health and veto dangerous abortion bans. In short, they’ve acted as our nation’s last line of defense in our fight to safeguard abortion access in states across the country because Dem govs know that in state after state – Kansas, California, Ohio, Michigan, Montana, Kentucky, and Vermont – the people have fought back, voting to preserve abortion rights every time they've been on the ballot. But they can’t win this fight alone. The stakes are high, and we can only come out on top with the help of supporters like you.
