Good morning! I'm up early before heading to Los Angeles, where I'll be spending Labor Day with SEIU healthcare workers as they advocate for proper compensation and safety and support on the job.
Strong unions benefit all of us. As a consumer protection attorney, I've seen how union workers push for better safety guidelines in places like hospitals and airplanes. And as a champion for effective government oversight, I'm thankful for our union partners. Unionized workers are often the folks on the ground sounding the alarm and holding big companies accountable when they sacrifice safety for profit.
Here in California and across the country we've seen a summer full of strikes. As I've said on picket lines time and time again: No matter the industry, workers deserve to share in the profits they create, and changing technology can't be an excuse to bust unions and leave workers behind.
On Labor Day and everyday, I'll always fight for workers. Thanks for being in this fight!
