| I'm absolutely furious, Jeanne. Today, a Trump-appointed federal judge in Texas ruled to overturn FDA approval of mifepristone – a pill used for medication abortions and to treat miscarriages. |
| Let me be very clear: Mifepristone is safe and effective. In fact, medication abortion is the most common method of abortion in our country, and has been used by millions of people over the last two-plus decades.
This ruling was never about keeping Americans safe. It was always part of the coordinated attempt by anti-choice Republicans to roll back abortion access so they can dictate a woman's personal decision about if, when, and how to start or grow their family. The result is going to have immediate and devastating consequences for women's health. |
| Here's one thing we can be sure of: These GOP-led attacks on abortion access are only going to get worse if Mitch McConnell gains control of a Republican Senate majority. McConnell and his allies have already threatened a nationwide abortion ban, and we simply cannot give them the chance to follow through on that threat. |
| But FiveThirtyEight is predicting that what happens in Nevada could decide Senate control, and analysts at The Washington Post say that I'm one of the most vulnerable senators up for reelection. Now, national Republicans are launching vicious attack ads against me.
